About the Department The Department of Earth Sciences at Uppsala University has over 250 employees and teaches more than 2200 students every year. Our focus is on research which means that 75% of what we do is research and 25% is education. Around 30 nationalities are represented at the department.

The Geo-PKO dataset provides data on UN peacekeeping missions, 1994-2019. The first version, Geo-PKO v 1.1, was released in 2019 and covered only missions to intrastate armed conflicts in Africa. The primary objectives of the ISCS are to define the series and stages of the Cambrian by means of the internationally agreed rules of the ICS and to provide the international forum for scientific discussions and interchange on all aspects of the Cambrian. In 2005, the International Subcommission on Cambrian Stratigraphy (ISCS) voted on, and adopted, a plan to subdivide the Cambrian System into four series and 10 stages.
